So our group decided the title Savory Sarasota fit well for our magazine. We wanted to keep it local but also fit with the theme of food. Also the title was broad enough that it could work with the different types of food that each member is doing.  I chose the bold but clean looking font for the title so it would stand out and be clear to read. Underneath i also wanted a bold font but not the same so i chose that font. The main focal point on the cover is going to be the food picture, which means I didn't want extreme colors and fonts on the cover, So for the article titles i used a smaller font and it either black or a dark purple.

The cover has a light blue background. In the center is a broken up tomato plant that is being supported by what looks like scientific beaker stands. The title "Eating Well" is in big, bold black letter across the top.On the middle of the left side it has the name of an article "45 Easy & Delicious Recipes". Just underneath that on the bottom left corner, in big, bold letter, it says "The Future of Food" which must be the whole topic for this magazine issue. The ads throughout the magazine aren't just focused on food like other magazines I've looked at, they are focused around health products or places. The articles are recipes and healthy lifestyle articles. All of the pictures are either food, people, or growing plants. The circulation of this magazine is 1.775 million magazines and haven't received any rewards.

  The cover has one main focal point. A roasted granny smith apple pie is centered on the cover. The pie is sitting on a white plate but its barely visible because the pie is so big. The title "Southern Living" is written across the top in orange letters and just above it, in a smaller font, is the issue title "A homemade Thanksgiving". The background of the cover is a Burgundy red, which makes the lighter colored food and titles stand out more. In the corners of the pages it looks like other dishware, almost giving the illusion that this is taken during the thanksgiving meal itself. On the top left corner of the pie is a circle with "The best pies and sides". This could be what types of articles are in this issue. Also on the bottom right corner, you can see other titles to articles that are featured in this issue. The ads inside the magazine are centered around food and food related items/ products. The ads are placed almost every other page/ article...

The cover of this magazine is more busy compared to others. The main focal point is the turkey that is sitting on a white plate surrounded by green plants. The Food Network logo is in the top left corner and is purple and red. Next to the logo is pictures of 3 of the popular Food Network Chefs, and it shows who made which recipes in the magazine. In the top right corner, there is a picture of a slice of what looks like either strawberry or rhubarb pie. Along the left side of cover are 3 pictures of signature dishes that are in the magazine. Along the right side of the magazine, the title of articles are displayed. "102 recipes: plan your perfect menu". Also the words "Happy Thanksgiving" are displayed along top of the turkey plate. Overall the cover is bright and uses the pictures to convey the message. The ads throughout the magazine are focused on food related products such as a nespresso maker and Campbell soup ad.      The cover layout consists of a center photo and the titles. The main focus point is the cooked whole turkey on a golden plate and is surrounded by blue berries on vines and what looks like apples with some leaves. The Food & Wine title is in bold white on the very top of the cover. The issue title "The Thanksgiving Issue" is displayed across the turkey in the center of the page. The entire background around the turkey is a red table cloth like material. The white text stands out against the darker background. They also include two article titles on the cover, one has a page number, the other does not. Ads are placed almost every other article and are focused towards food related topics or older generation stuff, like flight information and alcohol. The articles consist of recipes and reviews of restaurants or food. All of the pictures that aren't ads and focused around everything food and cooking.
